Chewy‘s Story

My name is Chewy. Some humans think I look like Chewbacca from Star Wars. I also make sounds like Chewbacca when I miss my humans :). I am a 3-year-old Labradoodle and weigh 55-pounds. I am fully potty-trained. I am great at car-rides. Open the door and I will jump right in. While I have not slept in a crate at my foster parent's home, I will do just fine. Frankly, I do not need a crate to sleep in because I am a big boy now. I do like to nap on cold tile floors. On occasion, I sleep on the sofa at night. Did I tell you my foster parents did get a doggy bed for me as well?
I think my foster parents have got my feeding time just right. As soon as I get my food, I eat it very quickly. I always want more! I love treats as well. During my foster family's lunch and dinner time, I try and go into the kitchen to get more food. I learn the areas that are off limits to me very quickly. Sometimes if I don't understand, 'Chewy Out' will make me learn quickly that I should not be going there.
I love belly-rubs and so sometimes while petting me, I start to lower myself and fall down unexpectedly so I can get a belly rub and If I want to get pet even more, I will look at you with my cute eyes, nudge you with my paw or lick you. I will try 2-3 times for sure. I get intimidated if an outsider comes to pet me. I don't bark, I just try to hide or run away. Actually, there are days when I don't bark even once.
Walks are so much fun for me! My foster parents take me out 3-4 times a day. I love to burn more energy after morning walks so I sometimes play fetch. Sometimes I do not give the ball back right away when I am playing with my foster human siblings. I will do just fine if I have dog siblings. Afternoons, I like to chase bird shadows. When I go on walks in the evening, I like to find squirrels and bunnies and I get ready to chase them. However, I can tell you that it is tough to chase when you are on a leash :). I do not bark at other dogs that go by but I do get curious and always want to go close to others to smell them. I don't need much entertaining when I'm home; I'm quiet and like to nap in corners.

Chewy is fully vaccinated, HW-, sterilized and microchipped.
