Flint‘s Story

Are you missing some tall dark and handsome in your life? If so you have found me! I am a fluffy 7 month old 51 lb labradoodle puppy. I am as dark as a shadow and I tend to try to be one too. Sometimes this has resulted in a few tumbles when my silly foster humans have decided to trip on their pseudo shadow.

I get along great with my foster dog siblings but I would probably do best in a home without cats. My foster family has one cat that holds her ground and I know to stay away from her but their other cat is not as tough and I just can't kick the urge to want to taste her and nibble her any time I have a chance! My favorite playmate is my fellow foster pup in my home who is 7 months old too. Foster mom lets us romp and play in the house and boy do we play! As soon as furniture starts to tip or flip she makes us put the brakes on and we try our hardest to listen, it may take a couple reminders but eventually we will follow the rules.

My leash walking needs work and foster mom said she is to blame for that. Whenever we go out walking I walk well with my older foster fur sibling but alone or with my fellow foster I pull, and I'm 51 lbs of strong! With the proper collar/harness and a little bit of work and consitancy I have been told I will catch on super quick as I like to please. I do come when I am called (most of the time) and I know how to sit and I have been working on stay.

I play really well with all the two legged foster family members, big and small. I do have to be reminded of my size sometimes but I would never hurt anyone intentionally. I am a goofy pup who just loves to love. Foster mom praises me for being a good boy while being brushed, she said her doodle could learn a thing or two from me in that department. I will let you work through my whole coat, which is a mix between fleece like fluff and a bit of coarseness, as many times as you please and I will even be patient if you find a knot or mat that may need some working on, although those don't happen often at all. My shedding is definitely on the minimal side and if brushed regularly you may find a small tumbleweed of fluff here and there but not on clothing or furniture.

My potty training skills are great. My foster family lets me out to potty on a a regular basis and if I feel the need to go in between I will go stand by the door. I don't chew on things I am not supposed to but I have been known to pick up random objects to prance in front of my foster family to get their attention. Sometimes I even like to engage them in a little game of "catch me if you can" but in the end I always drop whatever it is I may have picked up because all I really want is some loving attention.

My first few nights in my foster home I spent in a crate beside foster moms bed and I slept well. When the other foster pup came into the home I gladly gave up my crate for him to use and I was excited to show my foster family that I sleep just as well without my crate. If you will let me I am more than happy to fluff your covers to make them just right for us to hunker down in for the night and if that's not your cup of tea I am equally just as happy to lay on the floor so long as we are in the same room together. Since I am still a puppy and can act like a mischievous puppy at times my foster family will put me in my crate or in foster mom and dad's room when they have to leave me alone, and I am a perfect angel until they return. Truth be told though, I would much rather go with them whenever and wherever they go! I love the car and my foster family gets a kick out of how I sit in the backseat and look out the window just like a two legged passenger would.

I hope you have liked hearing about me and if you have please fill out an application and maybe we will meet soon and can start our furever life together! P.S. Foster mom asked that I make sure to emphasize that I am SUPER sweet!
