Wilma‘s Story

Are you super active? Like to get up early in the morning for a nice long walk and have time during the day for a lot of play? I'm a 1 1/2 year old 39lbs Goldendoodle who has the most beautiful coat. I shed minimally, but with brushing it’s unnoticeable.

My story started in South Texas in a very scary shelter. Thankfully, DRR saw me and scooped me up to help me get better! Turns out I had some broken bones in my foot but after many many xrays and splints, I can finally say my foot is healed!

I am a VERY active young girl who LOVES attention. I would probably do best as an only dog or with a dog that can tolerate me in their face more than they may like. I am also a VERY mouthy girl, so little kids is not a good fit.

Foster mom says I have high potential for being a star on the agility course and I have equal potential for being a frisbee catching dog, I can jump 5-6 feet straight up in the air at any given moment for any given reason!

My nickname is “Wild Wilma” and low stimulation at home is needed to keep me at bay. I am taking baby steps towards mastering the skills of listening and focusing. If you’re committed to A LOT of repetition and A LOT of persistence and A LOT of structure with my training then you will be rewarded with one of the most adoring loyal pups around!

Potty training is still a work in progress. If I am let out on a regular and constant schedule then I am perfect. On the rare occasion I must be left home alone I am perfect in my crate, I also do great in the car.

If you are ready for a work in progress and want to be rewarded with the best relationship ever then I'm your girl!

Wilma ABSOLUTELY must go to a home that has an authoritative pawrent. DRR is providing a in-home trainer to help with behavioral modification (barking/mouthy).

Wilma is fully vaccinated, HW-, sterilized and microchipped.
